ALAN ROBERT ✦ SIGNATURE BASS FUZZ PEDAL ✦

attention bassists:

unleash your angst.

keep your low end.

Finally, a bass fuzz pedal that flips the bird to weak tone — and keeps your low end huge. Hand-built in the USA. Modeled after a snarling 1972 fuzz circuit.

Most fuzz pedals force bass players to compromise: thinned-out tone, scooped lows, or signals that vanish in the mix.

Not anymore.

Introducing the Fuzz Off & Die signature bass fuzz pedal, created by Alan Robert (Metal Hall of Fame bassist for Life of Agony), and engineered by gear legend Terry Welty (Geezer Butler’s Ashdown Head of Doom amp, EMG GZR pickups, tech for Black Sabbath and Foreigner).

Words From the Pros.

Straight Talk. No B.S.

“Iconic tone.”

David Ellefson

Grammy Award–winning founding bassist, Megadeth

“Alan Robert is truly one of the OGs of the New York hardcore scene, and his tone with Life of Agony is at the cornerstone of it all. Super glad to see the Fuzz Off & Die pedal in action—it adds to an already iconic tone.”

“Hefty & Powerful.”

Jeff Pilson

Platinum-selling bassist, Foreigner, Dokken

Fuzz Off & Die sounds and feels like an amp when it’s on the verge of blowing, hitting that magical sweet spot that—until now—only a loud tube amp could deliver. Plus, it never thins out the sound like most units do. It’s hefty and powerful. I don’t think I’d ever need anything else to achieve killer distortion on my bass.”

“GROUND SHAKING.”

NEIL JASON

Fuzz Off and Whatttt? This is the box that will melt your pedal board. From the mind of Life of Agony’s Alan Robert comes the most searing bass fuzz you’ve ever experienced. Plug it in and stand back. It’s time to FUZZ OFF!”

UNDEr THE HOOD.

Fuzz Off & Die is engineered to respect the natural low-frequency energy of your signal, allowing heavy saturation without sacrificing the core frequencies that define your tone. Rather than flattening or filtering your sound, the circuit responds to the bass you feed it, maintaining clarity and authority as gain increases.

Modeled after a classic 1972 fuzz circuit, the design was carefully re-voiced and refined to accommodate bass fundamentals instead of removing them. Built by hand in the USA, this bass-aware architecture sets Fuzz Off & Die apart from fuzz pedals adapted from guitar-centric designs.

Terry Welty is a veteran audio engineer, bass technician, and product designer with more than three decades of experience in the music industry. His career includes extensive worldwide touring and long-standing work with legendary bassist Geezer Butler, first as his sound engineer in the mid-1990s and later as his bass tech beginning in 2006—a role he continues to hold. Trained in the craft of audio repair, modification, and fabrication from an early age, Welty gained foundational expertise under industry leaders such as Bob Heil, Don Hartwig, and Stan Nickens, developing advanced skills in soldering, speaker reconing, equipment repair, and cabinet construction.

Welty has been part of the design teams behind several high-profile signature products, contributing ideas and technical insight to Geezer Butler’s Signature Bass Guitars with Lakland, Signature Pickups with EMG, Signature Wah-Wah with Dunlop, and the Ashdown Head of Doom amplifier. His background in hands-on engineering and product development also led to the creation of a new fuzz circuit that became the basis for Alan Robert’s Fuzz Off And Die pedal. Working in collaboration with craftsmen Jeff Bradley and Scott Fraser, Welty helped transform the original prototype—built in his basement in 2023—into a refined, artist-branded production model. His work continues to influence modern bass tone, gear innovation, and the technical standards of touring musicians.
